It is said not to refuse her request for a ride here in Hawai’i. Refusing had been known to end up in punishment whether through a stalled car unable to work, or even a destroyed home. Kindness, generosity, and respect is now your new destination. When offering a ride and she accepts, she will eventually disappear mysteriously from your sight should you look into your back mirror or your passenger seat. Don’t panic, and continue to go on with your evening with grace. Some may even receive good luck for their simple, yet humbled gestures to Madame. Respectfully, you can also acknowledge her as Tūtū Pele or “Aunty”.
